Duties included managing the office of the Advisory Board, overseeing the finances, including development and management of the budget; preparing recommendations for implementation by the Miami-Dade County School Board; preparing progress reports for the Florida State Secretary of Education, Legislature and the Executive Office of the Governor; directing and coordinating all special research while working with the Miami-Dade County School Board members, staff and department directors.

CHAIRPERSON OF FLORIDA GOVERNOR’S HAITI ADVISORY BOARD
2004 - 2005

Served as the Chairperson of a seventeen-member Task Force and nine Haitian-American elected officials, that would make short and long-term recommendations to the Governor Bush on how the State of Florida could help in the reconstruction of Haiti. The Haiti Advisory Group has also listened to extensive testimony from Haitian government officials, the private sector, civil society, various political groups, non-profits, Embassy officials, USAID and the State Department, in Florida and in Haiti. PROJECT MANAGER OF USAID CONSULTATIVE CONFERENCE ON THE REBUILDING OF HAITI
2004

Coordinated all aspects of the Conference and acted as the conference moderator. Identified and researched topics for discussion and conference facilitators. Conference was held in May of 2004 in Miami and attended by over 200 conference participates. Simultaneous workshops were conducted in the areas of Trade, Investment and Job Creation.

Prepared company brochures, company profiles, needs assessments, client satisfaction surveys, donor letters and press releases. Created advertising for print, television and radio.

Assignments included Media Relations, Public Relations and Public Policy Legislation. Responsible for making recommendations to the Mayor on affordable housing and community development block grant funding. Additional responsibilities included writing speeches and special reports, issues management, research and briefing; acting as translator and spokesperson; representing the mayor at various local, state and national events.
